We thoroughly tested Vault Health -- learn about available treatments, cost, and value compared to competitors

Vault reviews

While people generally don’t love to see the doctor, men are notorious for finding reasons to avoid it. According to a survey (organized by the subject of this review), nearly half of men would rather watch paint dry than go to a doctor’s office.

But men’s health concerns don’t stop happening when men stop seeing doctors, of course; the opposite tends to be truer. This is why Vault entered the landscape and why it has attracted so much investment. Vault’s telemedicine service for men aims to improve men’s healthcare access by removing the need to go into the doctor’s office at all.

How does Vault’s medical service stack up? Is the delivery of medications discreet and efficient? How does Vault compare in quality to traditional doctor’s visits or telemedicine competitors? Does the pricing make it a good value? We thoroughly tested Vault and will share all of the details here in this review so that you can decide whether it’s right for you.

We extensively test each health service we review. We try our best to give you, our readers, an unbiased exploration of at-home health services, free of marketing jargon or gimmicks. We evaluate the service based on our adherence to quality, the latest medical evidence and health standards, and a simple question: would we buy the product or service ourselves if it weren’t part of our job, and would we recommend it to family and friends?

Additionally, this review of Vault, like all health-related content on this website, was thoroughly vetted by one or more members of our Medical Review Board for accuracy.

What does Vault do?

Launched in 2018, Vault is a New York-based company that runs an online telemedicine platform providing personalized treatment programs for various men’s health concerns. At its inception, Vault specialized in treating men with low testosterone, a condition that affects one-quarter of men over age 30.

Vault gives you virtual access to medical professionals who comprise a care team – nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and medical doctors. All of these professionals are licensed and specialize in men’s health concerns. They work together in order to address the health concerns of patients.

Vault’s telemedicine service allows you to skip the trips to the doctor’s office for health problems related to sex, fitness, immune function, hair loss, and more.

How does it work?

Your experience begins with an online consultation (potentially followed by a home visit from a healthcare professional). After that, your Vault provider will recommend the best treatment regime for your symptoms. If this involves medication, the medication will be prescribed, filled by a third-party pharmacy, and delivered to your home on a schedule to ensure you never run out. In most cases, your delivery schedule will be once every three months.

The home visit will be necessary for a quick blood draw only if you are a candidate for low testosterone treatment.

Since late 2020, Vault can now provide telemedicine services in the following 37 states:

  • Alabama
  • Alaska

HSA, FSA, and health insurance

Vault accepts HSA and FSA funds. Their treatment plans are not covered by insurance, but some insurance plans may reimburse you after you have paid for your treatment.

Vault’s health products

Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)

Often called Low-T or testosterone deficiency (TD), low testosterone is associated with low sex drive, erectile dysfunction, depression, low energy, and increased body fat. Vault offers testosterone replacement therapy in the form of injections, creams, or pills, depending on your needs and preferences. You can see results after 3-4 weeks of treatment.

Vault’s treatment process begins with an initial online consultation. After that, a provider comes to your home to take a blood sample. Vault uses this sample to check your testosterone and other hormone levels, in addition to kidney and liver function, blood count, blood sugar, and lipid balance.

Based on this data, you will receive a treatment recommendation. If your provider determines you could benefit from testosterone therapy and that it’s safe for you, you can begin your personalized treatment regimen immediately.

Vault Sex Kit

This treatment plan is for men interested in improving their sex lives with increased arousal, more intense orgasms, and a deeper connection with their partner. The treatment regime begins with an initial telehealth consultation with a Vault provider. Following your discussion, Vault will recommend a personalized treatment plan.

Your treatment regimen could include tadalafil and apomorphine lozenges and oral oxytocin drops.

  • Tadalafil is a PDE5 inhibitor that improves blood flow to the penis.
  • Apomorphine works in the brain to stimulate libido.
  • Oxytocin increases the intensity of orgasm and romantic feelings.

The lozenges usually work within 15-30 minutes. The oxytocin works within 1-3 hours, but it is thought to be more effective when used three days a week.

Vault Libido Kit

The Vault Libido Kit is aimed at men who want to boost their sex drive, strengthen their erections, and enhance their romantic/sexual connections. Beginning with a telehealth consultation, your Vault provider could offer you a combination of bremelanotide nasal spray, tadalafil tablets, and oxytocin sublingual tablets.

Bremelanotide improves libido by increasing the levels of melanocortin, a neurotransmitter that regulates sexual desire. In conjunction with tadalafil, which improves blood flow to the penis, bremelanotide can also strengthen erections. Oxytocin intensifies romantic feelings. You should notice results instantly with these medications.

Body Kit

The Body Kit is for men looking to increase their muscle mass, lose body fat, and boost their energy levels. After an initial telehealth consultation, Vault will provide you with a personalized treatment plan, which could include CJC-1295 and ipamorelin subcutaneous injections or ibutamoren capsules.

Vault’s kit works by boosting growth hormone levels, which has various benefits, including improved energy levels, increased lean muscle mass, improved mood, better sleep, and better strength and stamina.

  • The CJC-1295 and ipamorelin injection boost growth hormone secretion from the pituitary gland via different, yet synergistic mechanisms. The injections should be administered five times per week.
  • Taken orally, ibutamoren has the same effect but does not have the power of subcutaneously injected CJC-1295 and ipamorelin. It should be taken daily at night.

You should see results after 3-4 weeks of use.

Vitamin B12 MIC Fat Burner

Vault designed this treatment plan for men who want to support their overall wellbeing, have more energy, and burn more fat thanks to improved metabolism.

Subject to approval following your telehealth consultation, Vault will provide you with a weekly vitamin B12 (MIC) injection. This injection is a combination of vitamin B12, methionine, inositol, and choline. These compounds work together to increase your metabolism and supply you with essential nutrients that improve your overall health, control your mood and appetite, and process fats. You will likely be able to see results within the first few uses.

Phytotress Hair System

The PhytoTress Hair System is designed for men who want to control male-pattern hair loss. After an initial telehealth consultation, your provider could prescribe PhytoWashRx™ shampoo and PhytoSolRx™ drops.

PhytoSolRx™ drops

You’d apply this to the scalp once a day. It contains finasteride and latanoprost, two prescription-only medications that limit male-pattern baldness and improve hair growth. This treatment also includes minoxidil, which helps maintain hair and fight male-pattern hair loss.

PhytoWashRx™ shampoo

The shampoo – a delicate solution that cleans the hair and scalp without irritating hair follicles – primes your hair for the delivery of PhytoSolRx™ drops. The shampoo itself also includes the same three medications as the drops.

With any and all of these prescription hair loss treatments, it usually takes several months before most men notice visible changes to their hair.

Brain Kit

The Brain Kit is for men looking to enhance their focus, attention, memory, and cognition. Following your consultation with a Vault provider, you’ll receive your treatment plan, which could include Semax nasal spray or subcutaneous injection (administered three times per week) and Vault Brain Boost capsules. These protect the brain from the stress hormone cortisol, which can induce oxidative damage in brain cells.

  • Semax promotes the repair of damaged brain cells and stimulates the regeneration of new brain cells.
  • The Brain Boost capsules further protect brain cells from the impact of toxins, enhancing mood, sleep, memory, and focus, and reducing anxiety.

Patients usually start to see positive results around 3-4 weeks of use.

Immunity Kit

Vault provides the Immunity Kit for men who want to boost their immune system and reduce oxidative stress. If you’re approved for treatment after your initial consultation, Vault would ship you once-daily thymosin alpha-1 subcutaneous injections and once-weekly glutathione intramuscular injections. Thymosin alpha-1 is an immune system regulator that activates T cells, preventing infections. Meanwhile, glutathione is an antioxidant that reduces oxidative stress and enhances overall health.

COVID-19 Saliva Test

Vault offers the FDA-authorized COVID-19 saliva test developed by RUCDR Infinite Biologics. This test kit enables you to administer the test yourself at home, which is a great way to determine your status without potentially exposing others or yourself to the virus.

This is not an antibody test, but rather a test to determine if you have an active COVID-19 infection.

With Vault, your COVID-19 testing experience includes a Zoom call in which an expert supervises you as you administer your test. While the saliva test is straightforward, we’re impressed that Vault provides the supervision to improve effectiveness and promote greater peace of mind in these stressful circumstances.

Getting started with Vault

Vault makes it easy to get started.

Step 1: Answering the initial health questionnaire

First, in response to a series of questions, you will tell Vault about the symptoms concerning you. For those who are new to telemedicine services, this is basically par for the course. Afterward, you’ll book an appointment to discuss your health symptoms and goals with a Vault provider.

Step 2: Your telemedicine consultation

You then meet with a Vault healthcare provider via a telemedicine consultation. During this consultation, you’ll discuss your treatment options and ask any questions.

Vault’s consultation happens via a Zoom video call. This means that you can join the consultation from either a desktop or a mobile device. Just make sure you’ve downloaded the Zoom app if you plan to use your smartphone.

The consultation typically lasts about 30-45 minutes. We recommend choosing a quiet, private place free from distractions because you must be open and forthcoming with the health professional in order to receive the best care.

Step 3: Delivery of your medications and starting treatment

Next, Vault delivers your personalized treatments to your home. UPS express delivery is the method of delivery, which currently takes about 1-2 weeks to arrive. Packaging is discreet, with no information that would breach your privacy.

If you are seeking low testosterone treatment, note that a health professional will come to your house to collect a blood sample, so that Vault can analyze it before shipping your treatment.

Step 4: Managing your telemedical experience

To ensure your treatment is providing the intended results, Vault also offers ongoing at-home and virtual visits, during which you can discuss your progress and treatment.

How we evaluate health services and products

At Innerbody Research, we customize our evaluation criteria depending on the type and nature of the health-related service. For health-related products and services, we have five areas that we use for our evaluations, including:

Quality: How well does the company deliver its core service(s) and product(s) to the customer? For testing services, does the company adhere to the latest and most advanced testing technologies and achieve a very high degree of accuracy? For non-testing telehealth services, is the quality of the service and/or product high enough that we would recommend it to loved ones without hesitation? If not, why not?

User-friendly: How intuitive and user-friendly is the service? Does the device/program/app/website achieve a good degree of user-friendliness for its customers?

Value: Are you getting your money’s worth? Are there any hidden costs or charges? Does the company offer discounts?

Privacy: If health data is stored, will your data be stored securely? Are payments secure?

Customer support: Particularly in situations where ‘one size fits all’ doesn’t make sense, how well does the company help to make the service ideal for you?
